At a Glance – Ms. Angelia Lown.

As I teach your child every day, I work to make each child feel successful by leading him/her to be the best readers and writers he/she can be.

What I love most about teaching is the “AHA!” moments when children discover something new about themselves as learners.

Fun fact: I have been practicing yoga for fourteen years, and it is one of my favorite things to do.

Favorite book and why:

My favorite children’s book is Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. I love this book because Miss Rumphius reminds me of my mother. Miss Rumphius had three goals: to travel the world, live by the sea, and make the world a more beautiful place.

To make the world a more beautiful place, Miss Rumphius scattered seeds everywhere and flowers came up all over the place. Similarly, my mother taught me to spread flower seeds. She taught me that we can also make the world a more beautiful place by being kind and doing things for others.

I love this book because it reminds me of my mother and inspires me to be a better person!
