In May 2004, I graduated from Newberry College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Psychology. In December 2008, I began attending Southern Wesleyan University, and graduated from there in December 2009 with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.

I have been teaching and working with children for 15 years.

At a glance – Ms. Gabie Folk

As I teach your child every day, I hope to maintain and expand their curiosity to know about the world! I work to empower my students to dream big and to know that believing in those dreams can become a reality with hard work and dedication.

Fun fact: I LOVE going fishing!

Favorite book and why: My favorite book is Miss Malarkey Leaves No Reader Behind. In this book, there is a child that hates to read. He even hangs around with a group of friends that hate it too! When they start school, their teacher tries EVERYTHING she possibly can to get her students to LOVE books while they participate in a school wide reading contest. All of the little boy’s friends slowly begin finding books that they are interested in which leaves him all alone. His teacher made him a promise that she would find a book that he LOVED by the end of the school year. She finally did, and from then on he was hooked!
